Sustainable textiles

Designing textiles sustainably. From fiber to communication.

ecos helps companies and procurement departments make better material decisions, develop circular solutions, source sustainably, and credibly communicate their textile strategy to the outside world.

Textiles are a key driver of greater sustainability. The greatest potential lies in the upstream supply chain: According to the European Environment Agency, approximately 70% of the emissions associated with European textile consumption occur outside Europe, specifically in the production of raw materials, processing, and transportation¹.

At the same time, external pressure is mounting. New EU regulations such as the ESPR, EPR, and the Digital Product Passport require greater transparency and traceability throughout the entire supply chain.

The answer lies in better material choices, thoughtful product design, and consistent sourcing. Circular strategies also extend the life cycle of products and deliver tangible economic benefits: lower raw material costs, consistent input quality, and a stronger brand.

ecos brings specialized expertise to the table: For years, we have been supporting companies and public institutions—from carbon footprint assessments and material strategies to the circular economy—using scientifically sound methods and drawing on our extensive network within the Swiss and European textile industry.
