ANANAS develops strategies for urban developers to enable people with sustainable lifestyles to find suitable housing in the city. On the one hand, this means qualitatively desirable densification and energy efficiency, but at the same time also a higher quality of life and social sustainability.
Both large and small cities are ideal places to live for people who prefer a socially, economically and ecologically sustainable lifestyle in a dense urban environment. The CTI project initiated by ETH Zurich and ecos brings authorities and investors together and develops principles and guidelines for cities and municipalities that want to promote sustainable lifestyles.
In 2016, ecos and the ETH Housing Forum published “ANANAS – Guidelines and checklists for sustainable site development for cities and municipalities”. Since then, ecos has been responsible for all communication and has developed follow-up projects with partners with the aim of sensitizing communities to smart redensification.
