Evaluation of the Global Compact Network Switzerland and Liechtenstein (GCNSL)
In 2021, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) commissioned ecos to conduct an independent external impact evaluation of the Global Compact Network Switzerland and Liechtenstein (GCNSL), the local representative of the UN Global Compact, the world’s largest CSR platform. The aim of the evaluation was to align the future partnership between the SDC and the GCNSL and to provide the GCNSL Board with guidelines for the future strategic framework of the GCNSL.
For a pragmatic yet robust evaluation, ecos combined the methods of impact evaluation Collaborative Outcomes Reporting (COR) and Contribution Analysis (CA), accompanied by a document-based governance analysis. 20 interviews with GCNSL members and stakeholders, a document search and an online survey with 44 GCNSL members were conducted. A workshop with SDC and GCNSL managers and other important stakeholders rounded off the work, as did the editing of the evaluation report, which contains concrete recommendations for the future strategic direction of the GCNSL.
