Sustainability at the Swiss Red Cross (SRC)

The consulting firm ecos assisted the SRC’s head office (GS SRC) in developing a project description for the systematic integration of climate protection and sustainability into the organisation as a whole.

As part of the mandate, an inventory including interviews and a literature and document search was carried out at the beginning. A focus group workshop was then organized to better understand different perspectives on the topic, identify opportunities and risks and develop starting points for the approach in a participatory manner. Based on these results as well as international Red Cross best practice examples, scientific studies, internal ecos hands-on experience from other sustainability projects, organizational psychology findings and input from an SRC core group, a project description was drawn up. This was mirrored in a workshop with representatives of various SRC organizations and further developed on this basis. Finally, the project description is submitted for SRC-wide consultation.
